Plymouth City Council has announced a temporary restriction of through traffic, parking, waiting, loading, unloading, and pedestrian access on several roads in Plymouth. This is to facilitate phased gas main works under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14. The affected roads include Kingston Drive, Kingston Close, Minerva Close, Feversham Close, Litchfield Close, Caledonia Close, Dengie Close, Brookfield Close, Nash Close, Beckford Close, and County Close.

The restrictions will be in place from 7 September 2026 and are expected to last until 26 February 2027. The closures will be enforced 24 hours a day throughout this period. Specific sections of the roads will be closed entirely or have parking suspensions only.

The footpath from 23 Kingston Close to Kingston Road and from Lichfield Close to Almond Drive will also be closed. Additionally, the footpath from Nash Road to Glen Road will be inaccessible.

These measures are deemed necessary to ensure the safe and efficient completion of the gas main works. Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and seek alternative routes where possible.

For further information regarding these restrictions or the progress of the works, individuals can contact Wales & West Utilities at 0800 912 2999.
