Plymouth City Council has announced temporary traffic restrictions affecting several roads in the city due to phased gas main works. These restrictions will be in place from Tuesday, 26 May 2026, and are expected to last until Friday, 28 August 2026. The affected roads include Molesworth Road between The Elms and Park Street, The Grove in its entirety, Somerset Place between Church Street and Molesworth Road as well as between Penlee Road and Penlee Way, Penlee Way between number 32 and Molesworth Road, Milehouse Road between number 114 and Wolseley Road (parking suspensions only), Springfield Drive northbound for its entirety, and Bartholomew Road southbound for its entirety.
The restrictions will be enforced 24 hours a day to facilitate the necessary gas main works being carried out by Wales & West Utilities. Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid disruptions.
