Plymouth City Council has announced a series of temporary traffic and pedestrian restrictions set to commence in August 2026. These measures are necessary to facilitate various essential works across the city.

Furzehill Road and Surrounding Areas

From 24 August 2026, several roads including Furzehill Road, Marina Terrace, Southern Terrace, Crozier Road, West Hill Road, and Kensington Road will experience restrictions. These will be in place until 23 November 2026 to enable phased gas main works. The affected roads will be closed to through traffic, parking, waiting, loading, and unloading at all times. For further details, contact Wales & West Utilities at 08009122999.

Frensham Avenue Footpath

Pedestrian access on Frensham Avenue footpath between Tavistock Road and Frensham Avenue will be restricted from 10 August to 25 September 2026. This is to allow WWTGS enabling works. For more information, Balfour Beatty can be contacted at 07976934566.

Marine Road

Marine Road will be closed to through traffic between numbers 58 and 33 from 10 August to 17 August 2026 for new supply works. National Grid can provide additional information at 105.

Leigham Street

Leigham Street will see restrictions on parking, waiting, loading, and unloading from 17 August 2026 until 31 March 2027 due to building cladding works. For further inquiries, contact Bell Building Projects at 07779388951.

Stoggy Lane

Stoggy Lane will be closed to through traffic from West Park Hill to a point of 110m south from 17 August to 28 September 2026 for sewer main works. Kier on behalf of SWW can be reached at 03443462020 for more details.

These restrictions are part of ongoing efforts by Plymouth City Council to maintain and improve infrastructure within the city. Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and seek alternative routes where possible.
