Overview of Plymouth Road Traffic Notices

Plymouth City Council has issued several important road traffic notices affecting various areas within the city. These include amendments to parking restrictions and temporary road closures for maintenance work.

Proposed Parking Restrictions

The City of Plymouth is proposing amendments to parking restrictions on numerous roads under the Traffic Regulation Orders (Amendment Order No. 2026.2137360 - TRO Review 16). Roads affected include:

• Access Road To Cornwall Street West Car Park
• Alexandra Road
• Artillery Place
• Barne Road
• Bartholomew Road
• And many more...

Temporary Traffic Restrictions for Surface Dressing

Temporary restrictions will be implemented on several roads for phased surface dressing between 17th August 2026 and 30th October 2026. Affected roads include:

• Macadam Road from Shapters Way to PCC Depot Entrance
• Barbican Approach from Shapters Road to Commercial Road
• Bellingham Crescent from Glen Road to Pode Drive
• Sandy Road from Glen Road to Ridgeway
• Newnham Road for its entirety
• And others...

Temporary Restrictions for Gas Main Works

From 3rd August 2026, temporary restrictions will be in place on Moorland Road and Ridgeway due to gas main works. These restrictions will last until 2nd October 2026 and include:

• Moorland Road northbound closure for its entirety
• Ridgeway at the junction of Moorland Road closure
• Suspension of the one-way system from Dark Street Lane to Number 41 Ridgeway
