In May 2026, Plymouth City Council has announced several temporary traffic restrictions across the city. These measures are intended to facilitate essential works such as resurfacing, gas main works, stop tap renewal, and com-pipe leak repairs. The following is a summary of the key notices:
- Elliot Road and Surrounding Areas: Temporary parking, waiting, loading, and unloading restrictions will be in place from June 1 to September 30, 2026. Roads affected include Elliot Road inbound from Cotehele Avenue to Embankment Road and Laira Bridge Road inbound between Heles Terrace to Elliot Road. This is to enable phased resurfacing work.
- Ford Park Road Area: From June 1 to July 17, 2026, there will be a restriction on through traffic on roads such as Ford Park Road westbound from Ridge Park Avenue to Pentillie Road. This is necessary for gas main works.
- Charlotte Street Lane East: A temporary restriction will be in effect from May 18 to May 20, 2026, for stop tap renewal at the rear of number 65.
- Shaftesbury Cottages: From May 20 to May 23, 2026, there will be a restriction on through traffic outside number 3 for com-pipe leak repairs.
- Salisbury Road Lane North: Scheduled from June 3 to June 5, 2026, this restriction is also for com-pipe leak repairs.
Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and pay attention to advance warning boards that will display specific dates and times closer to the commencement of works.
