Plymouth City Council has submitted several planning applications that impact listed buildings and conservation areas within the city. These applications are made under the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 and related legislation.
One of the key proposals includes temporary stabilisation works to the precast concrete cladding panels at the Council House (application 26/00589/LBC). Additionally, there are plans for temporary external artworks across various locations on the waterfront and city centre, including 11 artworks (application 26/00524/FUL), 5 artworks at Royal William Yard (application 26/00525/FUL), 8 artworks at The Barbican (application 26/00523/FUL), and 16 artworks in the city centre (application 26/00522/FUL).
Another significant application involves a variation of Condition 11 concerning energy and sustainability for land at Poole Park Road, Savage Road, Roberts Road & Roope Close. This seeks to update the Energy Strategy for Phase 1 (application 26/00549/S73).
Further applications include condition discharge requests for Stonehouse Barracks regarding roofing slates, rainwater goods, mortar mixtures, dormer windows, and rooflights (application 126/00595/CDMLB). The Guildhall is also set to undergo changes with the installation of demountable boards beneath hexagonal rooflights and associated works (application 26/00537/LBC), as well as the removal of a picture frame and installation of panelling infill to the great hall internal wall (application 26/00538/LBC).
