A Reading shop which employed illegal workers and also breached its licensing conditions could be banned from selling alcohol.

Premier Stores, also known as Jelly Stores, in Whitley Street, could lose its booze licence at a review hearing on Thursday, January 4.

Reading Borough Council's licensing committee will examine the evidence and decide whether to revoke the shop's licence.

The shop was found to be employing illegal workers in 2013, and again in June 2017.

An inspection of the shop in June revealed it did not have any age verficiation policy for selling alcohol.

We'll be bringing you live updates from the meeting, which starts at 9.30am, in the blog below.
