Hertfordshire County Council has issued several temporary traffic orders affecting various roads across the county. These measures are necessary to facilitate utility service works scheduled to begin in June 2026.

Brookfield Lane, Aston

A temporary closure will affect Brookfield Lane from its junction with Ford Lane southwestwards for approximately 150 metres. The closure is required for utility service works and will be effective from 30 June 2026 for one day. An alternative route will be provided via Brookfield Lane, Long Lane, Lanterns Lane, Gresley Way, Broadwater Lane, Benington Lane, New Park Lane, and back to Brookfield Lane.

The Street, Furneux Pelham

The Street will be closed from its junction with The Causeway northwestwards for approximately 230 metres. This closure is set to commence on 29 June 2026 and last for five days. Alternative routes include The Causeway, Patient End, Braughing Road, Pelham Road, The Street, Ford Street, B1368 (Green End/Hay Street/Dassels/Dassels Hill/unnamed road), Worsted Lane, and The Street.

B176 Turners Hill, Cheshunt

The bus/cycle lane on the east side of B176 Turners Hill will be temporarily closed from 29 June 2026 for five days due to gas connection works. No alternative route is available; however, access will be maintained where possible.

Park Lane, Waltham Cross

Park Lane will be closed from its junction with Swans Road southeastwards for approximately 20 metres on 1 July 2026 for one day. An alternative route will be via Park Lane, Sturlas Way, A121 Monarchs Way, Eleanor Cross Road, High Street, and back to Park Lane.

Whempstead Road, Benington

A section of Whempstead Road will be closed from 16 June 2026 for three days. The closure affects a stretch from a point 123 metres southeast of its junction with High Elms Lane southeastwards and northeastwards for approximately 120 metres. An alternative route is available via Whempstead Road, Town Lane, Church Green, Walkern Road, High Street, A602 (Watton at Stone Bypass/Ware Road), and back to Whempstead Road.

Traffic Management in Cheshunt

Temporary traffic management measures will be implemented on A10 Great Cambridge Road from 15 June 2026 for four days. These include a speed limit reduction to 30mph and a prohibition on left turns from College Road into A10 Great Cambridge Road.
