Hertfordshire traffic notices for August 2026

Hertfordshire County Council has announced a series of temporary traffic management measures affecting various roads across the county. These measures are set to commence in August 2026 and will involve road closures, speed restrictions, and waiting prohibitions.

Road Closures and Restrictions

  1. Luffenhall, Ardeley, Cottered, and Cromer: Roads including C14 and B1037 will be closed to vehicular traffic for water mains replacement from 24 August 2026. Alternative routes have been provided.
  2. Great Amwell Public Footpath No.018: This footpath will be closed from 24 August 2026 for seven days due to nearby works.
  3. Chapel Lane, Letty Green: Scheduled closure from 25 August 2026 for utility service works, lasting three days.
  4. Kettle Green Lane, Much Hadham: Closure on 27 August 2026 for one day due to utility works.
  5. Hollycross Road, Ware/Stanstead Abbotts: Closure from 12 August 2026 with waiting restrictions during the six-day work period.
  6. Garland Road and Cross Street, Ware: Closure from 10 August 2026 for gas main replacement over a period of 21 days.
  7. B176 Crossbrook Street/Turners Hill, Cheshunt: Closure from 10 August 2026 with waiting restrictions during the five-day work period.
  8. B1038 Pump Hill, Brent Pelham: Closure from 11 August 2026 for two days due to telegraph pole replacement.
  9. The Street, Furneux Pelham: Closure from 11 August 2026 for two days due to telegraph pole replacement.
  10. Eastwick and Great Amwell: Traffic management measures including right turn prohibition and bus/cycle lane suspension from 10 August 2026 for seven days.
  11. A121 Eleanor Cross Road, Waltham Cross: Temporary speed restriction of 30mph from 10 August 2026 for five days due to gas disconnection works.
  12. A10 Westbound Slip Road onto College Road, Cheshunt: Closure from 13 August 2026 for seven days due to nearby works.
