Hertfordshire County Council has issued several traffic notices affecting various roads across the county in August 2026. These temporary closures are necessary to facilitate essential utility and infrastructure works.

Bridleway Thundridge 048 Closure The Bridleway Thundridge 048 will be closed from its junction with North Drive for approximately 17 metres starting on or after 1 September 2026. This closure is to enable utility works, and no suitable alternative route is available on the Public Rights of Way network.

Park Road and Trapstyle Road, Ware From 30 August 2026, Park Road and Trapstyle Road in Ware will be closed for water connection works. The closure will last up to 37 days, with no alternative routes available. Access will be maintained where possible.

Gypsy Lane, Great Amwell Gypsy Lane will be closed from its junction with A1170 Pepper Hill for one day starting on 29 August 2026. An alternative route via A1170 Pepper Hill, B1502 Stanstead Road, and Gypsy Lane will be available.

Wharf Road, Wormley Wharf Road will be closed from 31 August 2026 for five days due to utility service works. An alternative route is provided via Wharf Road, A1170 High Road, Cozens Lane East, Lammasmead, and Wharf Road.

C41 (Unnamed Road), Babbs Green The C41 unnamed road at Babbs Green will be closed from 1 September 2026 for two days to replace a telegraph pole. An alternative route is available via C41 unnamed road, Fanhams Hall Road, Musley Hill, New Road, B1004 (Star Street/Widbury Hill/Ware Road), and C41 unnamed road.

Pelham Road, Braughing Pelham Road will be closed from 2 September 2026 for two days to replace a telegraph pole. An alternative route includes Pelham Road, Braughing Road, Patient End, C35 unnamed road, C15 unnamed road, Gravesend, Clapgate, Albury Road, Standon Road, A120 (Standon Road/Stortford Road/Kents Lane), Station Road, High Street, Buntingford Road, B1368 (Wickham Hill/Station Road), Fore Street, The Street and Pelham Road.

Mill Lane, Watton At Stone Mill Lane will be closed from its junction with Whempstead Lane to A602 Watton at Stone Bypass from 31 August 2026 for five days due to utility service works. An alternative route is via Mill Lane, Whempstead Road, A602 (Ware Road/Watton at Stone Bypass), and Mill Lane.

A10 Traffic Management Measures Temporary traffic management measures will affect the A10 southbound carriageway in Ware and Wadesmill from 16 August 2026 for concrete repair works. The measures include prohibiting vehicular traffic and reducing speed limits.

Horns Road Closure in Hertford Horns Road will be closed from its junction with Hertford Public Byway Open to All Traffic No.034 southwards for three days starting on 18 August 2026 due to utility service works. An alternative route is provided via Horns Road, West Street, A414 (Gascoyne Way/Hertingfordbury Road), the A119 Cross Lane roundabout, A414 (Hertingfordbury Road/Gascoyne Way), B158 (Hale Road/Pegs Lane/Bullocks Lane) and Horns Road.
