Hertfordshire County Council has announced a series of temporary road and footpath closures scheduled for May 2026. These closures are part of ongoing development and maintenance works across the county.
Key Road Closures
- A1170 Ware Road, Hoddesdon: This road will be closed from its junction with the Bridleway/Plomer Avenue roundabout to Roselands Avenue starting 25 May 2026 for five days. An alternative route is provided via A1170 Ware Road and A10.
- Kitten Lane, Stanstead Abbotts: Scheduled closure from 24 May 2026 for one day. The alternative route includes B180 Hunsdon Road and B181 Roydon Road.
- Cecil Road, Hoddesdon: Closure from 25 May 2026 for twelve days due to water service connection works. Alternative routes include Rye Road and Bosanquet Road.
Footpath Closures
- Footpath Buntingford 035: Closed from Norris Way westwards for approximately 100m starting 8 May 2026 for up to six months.
- Footpath Hoddesdon 054: Closed from New River Path towards Conduit Lane East starting on or after 18 May for up to six months. Works are expected to take three weeks.
- Footpath Cheshunt 038B: Closure begins on or after 16 May 2026 for up to six months. The closure is necessary for electrical works.
Licensing Application
Mangia & Bevi Hoddesdon has applied for a premises licence at Unit 2, Library Court, Brewery Road, Hoddesdon. The application includes the sale of alcohol and live music indoors from 8am to 11pm daily. Representations must be submitted by 26 May 2026.
