Hertfordshire County Council has issued a series of temporary road traffic orders affecting various roads across the county, set to commence in June 2026. These orders are part of ongoing infrastructure works and will involve temporary closures, waiting restrictions, and traffic management measures.

A1170 Ware Road, Hoddesdon

The A1170 Ware Road in Hoddesdon will be closed from its junction with Briscoe Road to the B1197 Hertford Road/A1170 Amwell Street roundabout. The closure is necessary for works scheduled to begin on 15 June 2026 and expected to last five days. An alternative route will be available via A10 and A1170 Amwell Street.

Hebing End, Benington

Hebing End in Benington will be closed from its junction with Whempstead Road for utility service works. This closure will also start on 15 June 2026 and is anticipated to last one day. No alternative route is available, but access will be maintained where possible.

Parnel Road, Ware and Prospect Road, Cheshunt

Both Parnel Road in Ware and Prospect Road in Cheshunt will experience closures with no waiting allowed on both sides during the works. These restrictions will take effect from 15 June 2026 for five days.

A10 Great Cambridge Road, Cheshunt

Traffic management measures on the A10 Great Cambridge Road include a speed limit reduction to 30mph and a prohibition on left turns from College Road. These measures are due to water connection works starting on 15 June 2026 for four days.

Whempstead Road, Benington

Whempstead Road will be closed from 16 June 2026 for three days due to utility service works. An alternative route is provided via Town Lane and Walkern Road.

Additional Closures

Other roads affected include Kitten Lane in Stanstead Abbotts, Cuffley Hill in Goffs Oak, Bowling Road in Ware, Aspenden Road in Buntingford, and C15 in Little Hadham. Each closure has specific dates ranging from early to mid-June with varying durations.

For further details or queries regarding these orders, residents can contact the respective project managers listed in the official notice.
