Hertfordshire County Council has announced a series of temporary road closures across the county, set to take effect from late June through July 2026. These closures are necessary to facilitate various remedial and utility works.
Ruskin Close, Cheshunt
From 10 July 2026, Ruskin Close will be closed from its junction with Hammondstreet Road northwards for approximately 11 metres. The closure is required for remedial works and will last one day. No alternative route is available, but access will be maintained where possible.
Higgins Road, Cheshunt
Scheduled to close on 15 July 2026, Higgins Road will be inaccessible from Great Stockwood Road to Littlestock Road for one day due to remedial works. An alternative route will be provided via Great Stockwood Road, Argent Way, and Higgins Way.
B1038 (Unnamed Road), Buntingford
This road will be closed from 13 July 2026 for five days to allow water connection works. The closure extends from its junction with B1368 eastwards for about 48 metres. A detailed alternative route has been arranged via several local roads.
Cold Christmas Lane, Thundridge
Starting on 13 July 2026, Cold Christmas Lane will be closed for two days to replace a telegraph pole. The closure affects a section approximately 250 metres southwest of Kettle Green Lane. An alternative route is available.
Cecil Road, Waltham Cross
Utility service works will necessitate the closure of Cecil Road from its junction with B176 Crossbrook Street to Burleigh Road starting on 13 July 2026 for three days. An alternative route is provided via nearby streets.
Park Lane, Waltham Cross
From 1 July 2026, Park Lane will be closed from Swans Road southeastwards for one day due to utility service works. Access will be maintained where possible.
Bus/Cycle Lane on B176 Turners Hill, Cheshunt
The bus/cycle lane on the east side of B176 Turners Hill will be closed from 29 June 2026 for five days due to gas connection works. No alternative route is available.
The Street, Furneux Pelham
This road will close from its junction with The Causeway northwestwards for approximately 230 metres starting on 29 June 2026 for five days due to utility service works. An alternative route is provided.
Brookfield Lane, Aston
Scheduled to close on 30 June 2026 for one day, Brookfield Lane will be inaccessible from Ford Lane southwestwards due to utility service works. An alternative route is available.
