Hertfordshire County Council has announced several temporary road closures and restrictions across the county, effective from various dates in May 2026. These measures are necessary to facilitate essential works on or near the affected roads.
The Street in Little Hormead/Furneux Pelham will be closed to all vehicular traffic from its junction with Worsted Lane to The Causeway. This closure is scheduled to begin on 25 May 2026 and will last for approximately seven days. An alternative route will be provided via Worsted Lane, B1368, Ford Street, The Street, Pelham Road, Braughing Road, Patient End, and The Causeway.
In Ardeley, the unnamed road 3U52 will also be closed to vehicular traffic from its junction with C14 north westwards for about 717 metres. This closure will commence on 22 May 2026 and is expected to last one day. During this period, vehicles are prohibited from waiting on both sides of the road. An alternative route will be available via C14, B1037, Mill Lane, and back onto 3U52.
Kitten Lane in Stanstead Abbotts will be closed from its junction with B180 Hunsdon Road south westwards for approximately 25 metres. This closure is set for 24 May 2026 and is anticipated to last one day. Traffic will be redirected via B180 Hunsdon Road, B181 Roydon Road, and Kitten Lane.
Additionally, A1170 Ware Road in Hoddesdon will experience a closure from the Bridleway/Plomer Avenue roundabout to Roselands Avenue starting on 25 May 2026 for five days. Vehicles are also prohibited from waiting on both sides of this section during the works. The alternative route includes A1170 Ware Road, A10 Amwell Link Road, and A1170 Amwell Street/Ware Road.
These orders have been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and are valid for a period of up to 18 months. For further details or queries regarding these orders, residents can contact Hertfordshire County Council at the provided telephone numbers.
