Firefighters were called to a blazing car in Binfield in the early hours of Wednesday, February 14.

The car fire was already raging in Carter's Hill, Binfield, Berkshire, when a crew from the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service arrived at 3.40am.

Firefighter Ashley Bannister from Wokingham fire station said: "It was a Volkswagen Golf I believe.

"There was no one there at the scene.

"I think it was just left there, abandoned.

"The whole car was alight when we got there.

"Because of the petrols and fuels in the car it can take quite some time to put it all out and make everything safe.

"We used one breathing apparatus and one hose reel to put it out."

The crew spent 30 minutes hosing down the car before leaving.
