A 12-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being involved in a collision with a car in Southcote, Berkshire.

The incident happened in Burghfield Road, near Underwood Road, at 8.14am on Monday, November 13.

South Central Ambulance Service was called and sent an ambulance and a paramedic team leader to the incident.

When paramedic crews arrived at the scene, they found the boy was conscious and breathing.

After assessing him, they ascertained he had suffered an injury to his ankle.

He was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital for further treatment.

The incident led to the busy road being partially blocked, which in turn led to heavy rush hour traffic.
