East Devon traffic regulation amendment order effective 17 July

Devon County Council introduces no waiting zones across East Devon from 17 July.

Devon County Council has announced the implementation of a new Traffic Regulation Amendment Order for East Devon, which will come into effect on Monday 17 July 2026. This order introduces 'No Waiting At Any Time' restrictions on various roads across the region.

In Budleigh Salterton, the restrictions will apply to specified lengths of Elmside, Greenway Lane, Station Road, and Tidwell Road. Cranbrook will see similar restrictions on access roads to the Cranbrook Education Campus Car Park, as well as Born Orchard, Burrough Fields, Crannaford Lane, Mead Cross, and Younghayes Road.

Exmouth will have 'No Waiting At Any Time' on Keats Close, Moorfield Road, Richmond Road, Salterton Road, Shakespeare Way, and Trefusis Place. Additionally, there will be a 'Loading Only At Any Time' restriction on a specified length of Royal Avenue.

In Honiton, the restrictions will affect Aattishorne Way, Chapel Street, Gloucester Close, Honiton Bottom Road, Joslin Road, Rosemount Lane, and Weatherill Road. Ottery St Mary will see changes on Brook Street and Ridgeway Gardens with reduced lengths of Mill Stream Court also affected.

Sidmouth's Manstone Avenue and Manstone Lane are included in the new restrictions. In Tipton St John, roads from the Primary School to St Georges and from Tipton St John Primary School to The Orchard will be affected.

West Hill will have reduced 'No Waiting At Any Time' lengths on Beech Park with relaxed restrictions to 'No Waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am-9.30am/3pm-4pm'. Woodbury's Fulford Way and Globe Hill are also included in the new order.

The proposals for Town Lane are not being progressed at this time. The full order and related documents can be viewed online at devon.cc/lwrptranche2 or during normal office hours at Devon County Council offices.

Residents who wish to question the validity of the order or any of its provisions may apply to the High Court within six weeks from the date the order was made if they believe it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
