Devon County Council has announced plans to revoke the prohibition of motor vehicles on Dryden Road in Exeter. This proposal is part of the Devon County Council (Dryden Road, Exeter) (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) Revocation Order 6407. Additionally, the council intends to introduce a 20mph zone along a specified length of Dryden Road under Order 6408.
The proposed changes are made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Highways Act 1980. As part of these changes, several traffic calming measures will be installed on Dryden Road. These include a raised zebra crossing, flat top road humps, and a sinusoidal road hump. The raised zebra crossing will be 75mm high and 6.8 metres long, located 128 metres west of Well Oak Park. Flat top road humps will be installed at various points, including one at 18 metres west of Well Oak Park and another at the junction with Kipling Drive.
The council has also planned a flat top raised table at the junction with Kipling Drive, measuring 75mm high and extending 24.7 metres along Dryden Road and into Kipling Drive. A sinusoidal road hump will be placed 75 metres east of Kipling Drive.
