The University of Plymouth has submitted an application to Plymouth City Council for a variation of its premises licence at Drake Circus, Plymouth. This application, made by Harry Davis on behalf of the university, was filed on 22 April 2026. The proposed changes are due to developments within the university campus, including the addition of a new green space from the existing Brunel Building and new building blocks such as Hepworth House and the Wellbeing Centre.

Despite these structural changes, the licensing activities will continue to be conducted from the Students’ Union and Main Hall. The application does not propose any alterations to the current licensing activities.

Interested parties can submit representations regarding this application in writing or electronically to the Public Protection Service Manager at Plymouth City Council. The deadline for submissions is 20 May 2026. Electronic representations should include a postal address and can be sent to licensing@plymouth.gov.uk.

The full application is available for viewing on the council’s licensing register or at the Licensing Office during normal office hours. It is important to note that making a false statement in connection with this application is an offence punishable by a fine of up to £5,000.
