Devon County Council has announced a series of proposed traffic regulation changes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. These changes are set to affect several areas across Devon, including Budleigh Salterton, Clyst St George, Colaton Raleigh, Colyton, Exmouth, Honiton, Lympstone, Sidmouth, and Woodbury.

In Budleigh Salterton, the proposal includes a 'No Loading At Any Time' restriction on specified lengths of Fore Street and High Street. Clyst St George will see a 'No Waiting At Any Time' restriction on Chapel Hill. Colaton Raleigh will have similar restrictions on Hawkerland Road.

Colyton is set to experience 'No Waiting At Any Time' on Dolphin Street and Market Place, with limited waiting times introduced in certain areas. Exmouth will see extensive changes including 'No Waiting At Any Time' on various roads such as Claremont Grove and Exeter Road. Additionally, there will be 'No Loading At Any Time' on parts of Exeter Road and Margaret Street.

The proposal also includes various limited waiting times across Exmouth and introduces a prohibition of motor caravans overnight on the Esplanade. Changes to residents' parking permits and pay & display tariffs are also part of the plan.

Honiton will have 'No Waiting' restrictions during specific hours on High Street. Lympstone will see restrictions on Jackson Meadow and Trafalgar Road. Sidmouth's Ashley Crescent and Manstone Avenue will also be affected.

Woodbury will have 'No Waiting At Any Time' on The Arch with limited waiting times introduced in other areas.

These proposals include exemptions for picking up or setting down passengers, loading or unloading goods, and vehicles for disabled persons. Interested parties can view the draft order and related documents at devon.cc/alwrp or during normal office hours at Devon Libraries.

Objections or comments must be submitted in writing by 21 September 2026. Submissions will be anonymised before being reviewed by the Highways & Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC). Personal data will be handled according to privacy policies available at devon.cc/troprivacy.
