Devon County Council has announced several temporary road restrictions in Exeter under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. These measures are necessary to facilitate essential utility works and maintenance across various locations.

Cedars Road, Exeter

A temporary prohibition of parking will be enforced on Cedars Road from 1 May 2026, lasting up to 18 months, with an anticipated completion date of 22 May 2026. This restriction is required for gas mains replacement works. There is no alternative route available during this period. For further details, contact Wales & West Utilities at 0800 9122999.

Abbots Road, Exeter

From 4 May 2026, Abbots Road will experience a temporary prohibition of through traffic and parking until 29 May 2026. An alternative signed route will be available via Priory Road and Monkswell Road. This closure is necessary for lead replacement work by South West Water. For more information, contact South West Water at 03443462020.

Monks Road, Exeter

Monks Road will be closed to through traffic and parking from 7 May 2026 until 30 May 2026. The diversion routes include a clockwise path via Monks Road, Pinhoe Road, and Abbey Road, and an anti-clockwise path via Abbey Road, Pinhoe Road, and Cloister Road. This closure supports a lead replacement scheme managed by Kier on behalf of South West Water. Contact them at 03443462020 for additional information.

Road past Clarendon Farm, Perkins Village

Starting on 25 May 2026, the road past Clarendon Farm in Perkins Village will be closed to through traffic until 5 June 2026. The alternative route will be signposted via B3184-Marwood Lane-Marwood Rd. This restriction is to replace damaged verge protectors. For more details, contact South Coast Traffic Management at 01202 697127.

These temporary restrictions are part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve infrastructure in the region. Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid disruptions.
