Devon County Council has announced several temporary road restrictions in Exeter under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. These measures are intended to facilitate essential maintenance and infrastructure upgrades across various locations.

Maple Road, Exeter A temporary prohibition of through traffic and parking will be enforced on Maple Road from 6 July 2026, lasting up to 18 months, with an anticipated completion date of 21 August 2026. May Street, Exeter From 15 June 2026, May Street will experience a temporary prohibition of through traffic and parking until 10 July 2026. An alternative route will be signposted via Elmside, Rosebery Road, Iddesleigh Road, and Old Tiverton Road. This closure is required for lead replacements to address water quality issues. Ennerdale Way & Exwick Road, Exeter Starting on 17 June 2026, Ennerdale Way and Exwick Road will be closed to through traffic and parking until 22 July 2026. No alternative route is provided. This closure supports gas mains replacement works by Wales & West Utilities. For inquiries, call 0800 9122999.

Queens Crescent, Exeter Parking restrictions will be in place on Queens Crescent from 15 June to 6 July 2026 to replace old metallic gas mains with new plastic ones. There is no alternative route available. Contact Wales & West Utilities for more information.

Jubilee Road, Exeter Jubilee Road will be closed to through traffic and parking from 15 June to 17 July 2026. A diversion route will be signposted clockwise via Park Road, Polsloe Road, Pinhoe Road and anti-clockwise via Pinhoe Road, St Johns Road, Park Road. This closure is part of a lead replacement scheme managed by Kier on behalf of South West Water.

King Street, Exeter From 6 July to 3 August 2026, parking will be prohibited on King Street outside numbers 13 to 27 for the replacement of old metallic gas mains with new ones. No alternative route is provided.

These restrictions are crucial for maintaining and upgrading essential services in the area. Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow any posted diversion signs.
