Devon County Council has announced several temporary road traffic regulations affecting various roads in Exeter. These measures are necessary to facilitate essential infrastructure works.

Temple Road, Exeter

From 22 June 2026, a temporary prohibition of through traffic will be enforced on Temple Road. This restriction is expected to last until 13 July 2026. The closure is part of a lead replacement scheme aimed at resolving water quality issues. An alternative route will be available via Roberts Road, Fairpark Road, and Dean Street. Dean Street, Exeter

Starting from 13 July 2026, Dean Street will also face a temporary prohibition of through traffic and parking until 3 September 2026. This is part of the ongoing lead pipe replacement scheme. Oxford Street, Church Road, and Beaufort Road, Exeter

From 22 June 2026 to 5 October 2026, these roads will experience temporary prohibitions on through traffic and parking. Additionally, the one-way system on Oxford Street and Cecil Road will be suspended to accommodate the replacement of old metallic gas mains with new plastic ones.
