Devon County Council has announced temporary closures of several footpaths in Talaton and Ottery St Mary to facilitate the Beautiful Days 2026 music festival. The closures will be in effect from Monday August 10 to Friday September 4.

The affected paths include Footpath No. 4 in Talaton, which runs from north of Rose Cottage eastwards to the River Tale, and Footpaths Nos. 5, 6, and 7 in Ottery St Mary. Footpath No. 5 extends from Black Aller Covert westwards to the River Tale, Footpath No. 6 runs southwards from its junction with Footpath No. 7 to just north of the A30, and Footpath No. 7 stretches from Middle Lodge to its junction with Footpath No. 86.

Additionally, Footpaths Nos. 85 and 86 in Ottery St Mary will also be closed. These paths are crucial for ensuring safety during the setup and breakdown phases of the festival as well as during the event itself.

There is no alternative route available for Footpath No. 4 in Talaton. However, an alternative route for other paths is available via Footpath No. 86 through Black Aller Covert.

The closures have been agreed upon with the Secretary of State for Transport and are necessary to ensure public safety during the festival period when staff and attendees will be present on site.
