Devon County Council has announced new traffic regulations for Crannaford Lane in Cranbrook, set to take effect from Thursday, 4 June 2026. These changes include a prohibition of motor vehicles on specified sections of the lane and the introduction of a 40mph speed limit along other designated stretches.

The orders were officially made on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, under the Devon County Council (Crannaford Lane, Cranbrook) (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) Order 2026 and the Devon County Council (Crannaford Lane, Cranbrook) (40mph Speed Limit) Order 2026. These measures aim to enhance road safety and manage traffic flow effectively in the area.

Residents and motorists can view the order and related documents online at Devon County Council's website. Additionally, free computer access is available at Devon Libraries during their opening hours for those who wish to review these documents. Physical copies can also be inspected during normal office hours at the Director of Legal & Democratic Services' office located at County Hall, Topsham Road, Exeter EX2 4QD.

For individuals who wish to challenge the validity of these orders or any of their provisions on legal grounds, applications can be made to the High Court within six weeks from the date the orders were made. This is in accordance with the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
