The Borough of Broxbourne has announced a proposal to implement a new Disabled Persons’ Parking Places Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. This initiative, in collaboration with Hertfordshire County Council, aims to provide designated parking spaces for disabled individuals at various locations across the borough.

The proposed order will establish new disabled parking spaces adjacent to or outside specific premises in Hoddesdon, Turnford, Cheshunt, and Waltham Cross. Notable locations include 4 Ditchfield Road in Hoddesdon, 44 Rowan Drive in Turnford, and 5 Dewhurst Road in Cheshunt. These changes are intended to improve accessibility for residents with disabilities.

In addition to creating new spaces, the council plans to remove several existing disabled parking places that are no longer in use. These include locations such as 122 Dewhurst Road in Cheshunt and 66 Berners Way in Broxbourne.

Residents and interested parties can view detailed documents related to the order on the council's website. These documents include maps showing each affected road segment and the council’s rationale for the changes.

How can I object to the proposed order? Objections or representations regarding the proposed order must be submitted in writing or via email to TROs@broxbourne.gov.uk by September 10 2026.

What is the purpose of these changes? The changes aim to enhance accessibility for disabled individuals by providing more convenient parking options while removing underutilised spaces.

For further details on the proposed order and its implications, visit the Borough of Broxbourne's official website.
