Hertfordshire County Council has issued several temporary road closure notices under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. These closures are necessary to facilitate various utility and development works across the county.

Bengeo Rural and Sacombe Footpaths

The footpaths Bengeo Rural 004, Bengeo Rural 003, and Sacombe 011 will be closed for utilities work on or after 28 September 2026. The closure will last up to one day, with an alternative route provided via Bridleways 012, 005, 001, and 035.

Buntingford Bridleway

Bridleway Buntingford 013 will be closed from 11 September 2026 for up to six months to enable development works. Pedestrians can use Buntingford 008 and 034 as alternatives; however, there are no suitable routes for cyclists and equestrians.

Nelson Street, Hertford

Nelson Street will be closed from its junction with Wellington Street to Molewood Road starting 29 September 2026 for sewer cleaning works. The closure is expected to last four days.

Halleys Ridge Footpath

The footpath near No.53 and No.54 Halleys Ridge will be closed from 28 September 2026 for duct laying works. The closure will last three days with an alternative route available.

West End Road, Wormley

West End Road will be closed from its junction with Tudor Grove starting 30 September 2026 for utility service works. The closure is scheduled to last three days.

Hertingfordbury Road, Hertford

This road will be closed from its junction with St Marys Lane starting 29 September 2026 for utility service works. The closure is expected to last three days.

Cock Lane, Hoddesdon

Cock Lane will be closed from its junction with the A1170 High Road roundabout starting 28 September 2026 for overhead cabling works. The closure is scheduled to last twelve days.

Priory Street, Ware

Priory Street will be closed from its junction with Ware Town Public Footpath No.015 starting 28 September 2026 for drainage works. The closure is expected to last fifty-four days.

Various Roads in Little Berkhamsted, Wormley and Cheshunt

Several roads in these areas will be closed starting 25 September 2026 for seven days due to proposed works.

A414 Rush Green Link and Other Roads in Hertford, Braughing and Little Hadham

These roads will face closures starting 14 September 2026 for five days due to proposed works.

Goffs Oak and Ware Roads

Roads in these areas will be closed starting 16 September 2026 for seven days due to proposed works.

B181 Station Road, Stanstead Abbotts

This road will be closed starting 15 September 2026 for two days due to level crossing safety compliance works.

Tower Road, Ware

Tower Road will be closed starting 15 September 2026 for two days due to utility service works.

Park Road, Ware

Park Road will be closed starting 14 September 2026 for three days due to water connection works.

Dark Lane, Cheshunt

Dark Lane will be closed starting 14 September 2026 for one day due to proposed works.

B176 Crossbrook Street, Cheshunt

This road will be closed starting 14 September 2026 for six days due to utility service works.
