Hertfordshire County Council has issued multiple road traffic notices affecting various roads across the county. These orders are set to come into effect starting 19 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of up to 18 months.
Cavell Road, Cheshunt
A temporary closure order has been made for Cavell Road in Cheshunt due to proposed gas main works. The closure will affect the section from its easternmost junction with Peakes Way north eastwards and north westwards for approximately 66 metres. An alternative route will be available via Peakes Way and Cavell Road. The works are scheduled to last for 16 days.
Beechwood Close, Hertford
Beechwood Close in Hertford will also be temporarily closed from its junction with A119 Ware Road for its entire length. This closure is necessary for works proposed on or near the road. No alternative route is available; however, access will be maintained wherever possible during the seven-day work period.
Church Road, Little Berkhamsted
Church Road in Little Berkhamsted will be closed from its junction with Goddards Close south eastwards for approximately 140 metres due to utility service works. An alternative route is provided via Church Road, Robins Nest Hill, B158, Woodfield Lane, Tylers Causeway, and C54. The works are expected to take one day.
Britannia Road, Waltham Cross
New waiting restrictions will be introduced on parts of Britannia Road in Waltham Cross. These restrictions are part of a Traffic Regulation Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and will come into effect on Friday 16 October 2026.
