Exeter City Council has announced several planning applications affecting conservation areas and listed buildings. These proposals are open for public comment until 24 days from the notice date, which was issued on 10 September 2026.

Development affecting conservation areas

One of the key proposals involves the Mill On The Exe located on Bonhay Road in St Davids. The application seeks permission to create three electric vehicle charging spaces. This includes the installation of a 60kW trio charger and a feeder pillar. This development aims to enhance the infrastructure for electric vehicles in the area, supporting Exeter's sustainability goals.

Listed building applications

In addition to the above, there are two listed building applications under consideration:

  1. 16 Howell Road, Duryard & St James: The proposal involves replacing windows on the front elevation at ground floor level. This change is intended to maintain the building's historical integrity while improving its functionality.
  2. 44 The Strand, Topsham: This application involves works to a boundary wall, which is part of maintaining the structural integrity and aesthetic of this historic site.

How to participate

Residents and interested parties can view these applications on the Exeter City Council's planning website. Representations of objection, support, or comments can be submitted online or via email to the assigned Case Officer.

Those who have any concerns or believe they may be adversely impacted by these developments are encouraged to review the full details available online.
