The City of Plymouth has announced the implementation of a new Traffic Regulation Order affecting Eden Valley Gardens and surrounding areas. This order, effective from 14 October 2026, aims to enhance safety around schools by restricting motor vehicle access during peak times.
Under the new regulations, motor vehicles will be prohibited from accessing certain sections of Eden Valley Gardens, Ambleside Place, and Ravenglass Close between 8am and 9am, and again from 2.15pm to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. These restrictions are part of the council's efforts to create safer environments for children travelling to and from school.
The order was made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and follows consultations with the Chief Officer of Police. It is designed to reduce traffic congestion and improve pedestrian safety during school drop-off and pick-up times.
Residents or individuals who wish to question the validity of this order have six weeks from the date of its implementation to apply to the High Court. Full details of the order, including relevant plans and amendments, can be accessed on the Plymouth City Council's website or by contacting their office directly.
For further information or to request a hard copy of the order, individuals can contact Plymouth City Council at 01752 668000.
