Devon County Council has issued several temporary traffic regulation orders affecting multiple roads in Exeter. These restrictions are necessary to facilitate essential works and will impact both through traffic and parking.

Honiton Road, Exeter A temporary prohibition of through traffic will be in place from 19 October 2026 to 30 October 2026. The alternative route will be via East Wonford Hill, Rifford Road, Burnthouse Lane, Wonford Street, Topsham Road, Rydon Lane, Sidmouth Road, and Honiton Road. This closure is required for drainage works.

Rosebery Road, Exeter From 26 October 2026 to 18 December 2026, there will be a prohibition of through traffic and parking. Vehicles can use Elmside, Salisbury Road, and Iddesleigh Road as alternative routes. The restriction is necessary for lead pipe replacement by South West Water.

Welcome Street, Exeter Parking will be prohibited from 28 September 2026 to 21 October 2026 due to water works. There is no alternative route available.

Cambridge Street, Exeter A prohibition of through traffic will occur from 28 September 2026 to 18 October 2026. The alternative route includes Cambridge Street, Buller Road, and Brunswick Street. This is to replace gas mains and renew service pipes.

Buller Road, Exeter From 19 October 2026 to 17 November 2026, there will be a prohibition of through traffic and parking. The alternative route is via Cowick Street, Buddle Lane, and Okehampton Road. This is part of a lead replacement scheme by Kier on behalf of South West Water.

Church Road, Alphington Parking will be prohibited from 28 September 2026 to 23 October 2026 for gas replacement works. No alternative route is available.

Belmont Road, Exeter Parking restrictions will be in place from 21 September 2026 to 16 October 2026 to install pedestrian and cyclist priority infrastructure.

Clifton Road, Exeter Parking will be prohibited from 21 September 2026 to 27 November 2026 for similar infrastructure installations.

Church Road (Alphington), Exeter (No.4) A one-way restriction will apply from Alphington Road to Powlesland Road/Alphinbrook Road from 28 September 2026 to 23 October 2026 due to gas works.

Grace Road Central, Exeter A one-way directional closure will be enforced from 21 September 2026 to 27 October 2026 for gas mains replacement works.
