Road Traffic Notices in Devon

Devon County Council has issued several road traffic notices affecting various areas in the county. These include temporary prohibitions and parking restrictions to facilitate essential works.

• Stoke Canon: A temporary prohibition of through traffic on the road from Burrow Corner to Chestnut Crescent is in place from 5 September to 6 September 2026. The alternative route is via Green Lane-A396 and Chestnut Crescent. This restriction is necessary for crossing surface removal.
• Welcome Street, Exeter: From 28 September to 21 October 2026, parking will be prohibited to enable water works. There is no alternative route available.
• Cambridge Street, Exeter: A temporary prohibition of through traffic will occur from 28 September to 18 October 2026 for gas mains replacement.
• Elton Road, Exeter: From 31 August to 18 September 2026, there will be a prohibition of through traffic and parking due to a lead replacement scheme.
• Church Road, Alphington, Exeter: A one-way traffic restriction will be enforced from 7 September to 23 October 2026 for gas works.

Planning Applications in Exeter

Exeter City Council has announced multiple planning applications affecting listed buildings and conservation areas:

• Revolution, Queen Street: Proposals include replacement signage and shopfront repairs to convert the building into a Flight Club venue.
• Trafalgar Court, Topsham: Plans for window replacements are under review.
• Majorfield Road, Topsham: A kitchen extension roof replacement with slate tiles is proposed.
• White Street, Topsham: A rear extension and alterations to an outbuilding are planned.
• Wonford Community Centre: Refurbishment plans include demolishing existing structures to build a new hub with facilities.

New Zebra Crossings on Rifford Road

Devon County Council intends to install two new zebra crossings on Rifford Road in Exeter. These will be located northeast of Woodwater Lane and Ivy Close. The works are scheduled to begin in September 2026. Plans can be viewed at devon.cc/tro or during office hours at County Hall, Exeter.
