Plymouth City Council has announced a temporary restriction of through traffic on Alma Road and Upper Knollys Terrace Lane. This measure is set to commence on 12 October 2026 and will last until 30 October 2026, with the possibility of extending up to a maximum of 18 months if necessary. The restrictions will be in effect daily from 9:30am to 3:30pm.

The affected roads include Alma Road, where vehicles will not be permitted to make a right-hand turn into Upper Knollys Terrace Lane, and Upper Knollys Terrace Lane, where vehicles will not be allowed to make a right-hand turn onto Alma Road. These temporary measures are deemed necessary to facilitate essential footway works in the area.

Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and consider alternative routes during the restriction period. For further details or inquiries, South West Highways can be contacted at 01752 278278.

This notice was published by Plymouth City Council's Director for Growth and appeared in The Herald on 28 September 2026.
